Where the Magic Happens

In the beginning of February, I decided I was sick of digging all of the scrapbooking materials out of the desk I was using to do just one or two pages. I am the kind of person who believes that everything has its place and when things are not organized, it drives me crazy. So I bought myself a little something to keep all of my embellishments, stickers, papers, stamps, and everything else you can think of organized. I purchased this desk that is made by The Original Scrapbox. I think its called the "mini workbox". I cannot express how much I love it. Everything has its own drawer and I still have empty drawers to fill up.  When I open it up, the top is used as the work surface and its big enough to spread out all my stuff.  Believe it or not, my kids leave it alone. I think they know I will "snap" if anything is out of place or missing.  I have limited space to scrap in my house with 3 kids running around so this works perfect. And its on wheels so I can push it anywhere. PERFECT!!!!

I also recently completed a page of my youngest daughter at the 4th of July parade last year that I think turned out cute.  I cut out the stars with a friends Cricut, embossed them with dots, then sanded the tops of them so the dots were white. I adhered them with foam squares so they stick off the page. Its hard to tell from the picture but its pretty cute in person.

Last weekend I went up to Cushing with a few ladies on my very first "Scrapbooking Retreat Weekend".  I had a ton of fun and got a few pages done.  One of my favorites from the weekend is this circle layout with all 3 of my girls from last winter.  I've never done a circle layout but I'm happy with how it turned out.  I die cut the snowflakes with my Silhouette, rubbed ink on them with a cotton swab, and sprayed them with some glitter spray.  CUTE!!! Again, its hard to tell from the picture but I love it so wanted to show it.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!!!

My Very First Blog Post!

So I have decided to start a blog to share my passion for scrapbooking and for my life. I am in no way a writer but will do my best to keep regular posts. I hope you enjoy this as much as I think I will.

I have only been scrapbooking for a few years but I really enjoy it. I put alot of time into each page and seeing the end result makes me really happy. My kids love looking back at all the pages I've completed and I truly cherish all the memories.

The first layout I want to share is a Halloween layout of my oldest daughter. I want to share
this layout first because I LOVE the way the flowers turned out. I punched 5 scallops from cardstock, soaked them in water, stuck them together with a brad, and gently gathered them up toward the top. When they dried, I attached them with a glue dot. Soo cute and so easy.

I used my Quickutz Silhouette to cut out the envelope on the top and also the title. I could not scrapbook without my Silhouette. It can cut anything!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my first post. Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
